Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs is the administrative organ of Guilin Medical University that formulates plans on cooperation and exchanges with Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, promotes the whole university to establish ties with the colleges, universities or other institutions of education in the three regions for cooperation and exchanges, and coordinates and manages affairs concerning them. The office actively carries out educational and cultural exchanges with Taiwan, and established Center for Educational and Cultural Exchanges between Guilin and Taiwan in the beginning of 2021. Relying on the solid basis of the exchanges between Guilin municipal government with Taiwan, the center strives to implement educational and cultural exchanges with Taiwan, and forges a brand for the exchanges between the institutions of higher education in the two regions, which has constituted some influence and a reputation to the compatriots in Taiwan, and further expanded channels for GLMU to enroll students from Taiwan, bring in high-level talents from it, and conduct cooperation with colleges and universities in it in teaching and scientific research.
Its main duties include:
1.Planning and extending GLMU’s educational cooperation and exchanges concerning the three regions, and applying for approval and coordinating them.
2.Laying down official documents on GLMU’s affairs concerning the three regions, and managing and coordinating them.
3.Going through the formalities of staff and faculty members’and students’short term or long term visits to the three regions for official business.
4.Going through the formalities of inviting visitors from the three regions and receiving them.
5.Conducting educational and cultural exchanges with the three regions.
6.Conducting the enrollment of students from the three regions, and managing them.
