Office of International Cooperation and Exchange is the functional department and administrative organ of Guilin Medical University that coordinates and manages its exchanges and cooperative affairs with foreigners, enhances its communication and interaction with foreigners, and makes use of foreign high-quality educational resources.With the support of the whole university, the office actively carries out international cooperation and exchanges, and has established ties of friendly collaboration with some institutions of higher education or other functions of more than 10 nations and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, etc. In recent years, GLMU further explored new cooperation and exchanges with the countries and regions with developed education in East Asia, Europe, America, etc., on the basis of the ties with thecountries along the Belt and Road, especially the series of activities with Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, Japan, which further deepened their cooperation and exchanges in their students’and teachers’mutual visits, scientific research, resource sharing, joint cultivation of students, etc.
Its main duties include:
1. Drafting the developmental plan of the whole university’s work in foreign cooperation.
2. Coordinating the whole university’s foreign activities, and provide information and contact service for the colleges’, schools’and faculties’teaching, scientific research and foreign academic exchanges.
3. Conducting the plans and implementation of vital foreign receptions and visits to foreign countries at university-level.
4. Exploring GLMU’s cooperative programs with overseas colleges, universities, institutions of scientific research, governmental organs, international organization, etc., and takingchargeof the overall management ofuniversity-level programs.
5. Conducting the exploration, contact, inspection, submission, execution and management of cooperative education programs with foreign institutions and other cooperative programs.
6. Other tasks of foreign cooperative and exchanges assigned by GLMU.
